Thetford Porta Potti Qube portable toilet, model 145, is a manual, non-electric toilet for boats, caravans, motorhomes, and other locations without permanent water or drainage connections. The toilet is part of the Porta Potti 100 series and features a compact design with a net weight of 3.6 kg.
The toilet consists of two detachable sections. The top section houses a 15-litre flush-water tank, toilet bowl, seat, and lid, while the bottom section is a 12-litre waste-holding tank. Flushing is operated manually via a bellows pump and therefore requires no electrical connection. This model has no level indicator for either the flush-water tank or the waste-holding tank.
The external dimensions are 330 × 383 × 427 mm in height, width, and depth, while the seat height is 324 mm. The toilet is finished in white and grey and is rated for a maximum load of 120 kg under normal use. The operating temperature is +1 °C to +60 °C, and the permitted storage temperature is −40 °C to +60 °C.
The waste-holding tank features a carrying handle, an integrated pour-out spout, and a vent button, which allows the tank to be emptied in a more controlled manner and limits splashing. The manual blade between the toilet bowl and the waste-holding tank can be used open or closed during use and must be closed completely afterwards. On average, a full flush-water tank provides approximately 75 flushes, depending on the volume of the flush.
During transport, there should be no water left in the toilet bowl. The waste-holding tank should be no more than three-quarters full, while the flush-water tank should be empty or at most half-full. Emptying must take place at an approved disposal point. For long-term storage or risk of frost, both tanks must be emptied, cleaned, and dried, and the openings should be kept ventilated.
Use toilet-specific additives and cleaning agents for the tanks. Ordinary household cleaning agents, petroleum jelly, and vegetable oil should not be used on the gaskets, as they can damage the seals.
