This trailer plug adapter connects a trailer, boat trailer, or caravan with a 13-pin male plug to a towing vehicle with a traditional 7-pin female socket. The adapter is designed for 12 V systems and features a 7-pin male plug towards the vehicle and a 13-pin female socket towards the trailer.
The compact, cable-free design plugs directly between the vehicle's socket and the trailer's plug. The connection follows ISO 1724 on the 7-pin side and ISO 11446 on the 13-pin side. The adapter has an overall product length of 75 mm and requires neither permanent installation nor a separate connection cable.
The housing is made of black ABS. The electrical contacts are made of nickel-plated brass, while other metal parts are made of chrome-plated brass. A protective cap helps protect the connection when not in use.
The 13-pin female socket has seven active female contacts and therefore transfers the seven circuits from the vehicle's 7-pin connection. The adapter does not establish the additional circuits that may be available in a fully wired 13-pin installation, such as permanent positive, charging line, or reversing lights.
Compatibility is determined by voltage, plug type, and standard: The vehicle must have a 7-pin female socket according to ISO 1724, while the trailer must have a 13-pin male plug according to ISO 11446. The reverse adapter direction is available as item no. 14.190.51.
