Top-mounted mechanical engine control Fully mechanical throttle and gear control for boats with one or two inboard engines. This compact control solution is mounted on a console or dashboard and is available with either a single lever or two dual-action control arms, allowing each engine to be operated with one arm for both throttle and gear shifting.
The control lever or arms can be pulled outward to disengage the gear function during engine warm-up. This allows the engine to be revved without engaging the gear. Internal friction helps maintain the selected throttle setting and prevents the control from moving unintentionally. The design also prevents gear engagement unless the engine is in neutral.
The control box is made of chrome-plated marine aluminum and is mounted through the control panel. There is no power trim switch or positive mechanical lock in neutral. The control can be used with C2, C8, and MACHZero/MACH0 cables. Throttle and gear functions can be configured for both push and pull action, while the gear cable stroke can be set to 68.5 mm, 75.12 mm, or 81.72 mm. The factory setting is 75.12 mm. Cables must be routed in long, smooth curves with a recommended minimum bend radius of 203 mm.
For the single-lever version, the base is 157 × 107 mm, the housing below the panel is 141 × 64 mm with a documented depth of 104 mm, and the panel cutout is 59 × 142 mm. For the dual-lever version, the mounting cutout is 92 × 142 mm with side extensions, four Ø5.5 mm mounting holes, and eight Ø8 mm auxiliary/radius bores. Cables are chosen in the required length for the installation and are not included.
The X43 neutral safety switch is available separately and prevents engine starting when the gear is engaged. The single-lever version requires one switch, while the dual-lever version requires two, one for each control mechanism. The combination meets EN ISO 11547:2018 when the X43 is installed. An alternative X55 knob can be used as an accessory.
