Ultraflex Gotech hydraulic steering kit is a complete hydraulic steering system for inboard installations with a single engine up to 115 hp. The GOTECH-I variant comes with a balanced 69 cm³ UC69-I cylinder and requires 3.8 steering wheel turns from lock to lock.
The kit includes a UP18 steering pump, UC69-I hydraulic cylinder, two 6 m long 1/4" high-pressure hoses with reusable end fittings, as well as 2 liters of OL 150 hydraulic oil. The hoses can be shortened according to the installation requirements. A steering wheel is not included, and the maximum allowed steering wheel diameter is 508 mm.
The UP18 pump has a displacement of 18 cm³ per steering wheel turn, five pistons, and an integrated relief valve set at 55 bar. The built-in lock and check valve prevents loads from the rudder from being fed back to the steering wheel. The pump features a corrosion-resistant composite housing, a tapered 3/4" stainless steel shaft, and two included 1/4" NPT fittings.
The balanced UC69-I cylinder provides equal steering effort to port and starboard. The cylinder stroke is 150 mm, the output force is 168 kg, and the maximum torque is 32 kgm. The cylinder has a 25 mm bore, a 14 mm piston rod, and 3/8" / 9.5 mm connections for reinforced high-pressure hose.
The UC69-I is mounted with the moving piston rod directly to the tiller arm via the ball joint, while the opposite side of the cylinder is secured to the boat with a support and mounting plate. Installation requires M6 through-bolts made of at least A2-70 stainless steel, self-locking stainless nuts, and a tightening torque of 10 Nm. Oil fittings must face upward, and the connection to the tiller arm must be performed in accordance with ABYC P21.
The complete kit complies with EU Directive 95/25/EC and ISO 10592. For retrofitting an autopilot, the K18 connection kit with item no. 45.273.10 can be used. The UC69-I cylinder is also available separately as item no. 45.271.06. Use suitable hydraulic oil, and do not use ATF Dexron II, brake fluid, or engine oil in the system.
