Mechanical single-lever control box for throttle and gear operation with flush bulkhead or side mounting for outboards, inboards, and sterndrives. One lever controls both gear and throttle: gear shifting is activated first, followed by throttle regulation. Depending on the model, the control is supplied with an integrated UP/DOWN trim switch or without a trim function.
The neutral safety lock reduces the risk of accidental gear engagement, and the gear function can be disengaged by pulling out the lever, allowing the engine to warm up with throttle in neutral. The mechanism prevents gear shifting unless the engine is at idle. The throttle friction can be adjusted externally, and the throttle function can be configured for push or pull cable activation.
The control box can be mounted horizontally or vertically on the starboard or port side. The mechanism and cables are positioned behind the bulkhead. The installation requires a central cutout of Ø 89 mm with a tolerance of +2/−0 mm, as well as four Ø 5.6 mm mounting holes with a 76.2 mm center distance. Depending on the version, the front dimensions are up to 231 × 140 mm, the required internal depth is approx. 81.5 mm, and the lever movement requires a clearance radius of 185–195 mm. Control cables must be routed with a minimum bend radius of 200 mm and should not be secured until at least 500 mm from the control box.
C2, C7, C8, C14, MACHZero, and MACH14 can be used directly, depending on the version. C5, C16, MACH5, and Mercury Gen I require the K35 adapter kit, manufacturer no. 34730U. C22 requires the KB1 adapter kit, manufacturer no. 39964L, while C36 and MACH36 cannot be used. Cable travel can be set to 67 or 78 mm and must match the engine's gear arm.
The trim switch is rated for 12 V and 2 A inductive load. Connection must be performed according to the engine's wiring diagram; for high inductive loads, an auxiliary relay is recommended. The control is CE and UKCA marked depending on the version. EN ISO 11547 is met or exceeded when the prescribed neutral start switch is installed. Installation, adjustment, and service should be performed by qualified personnel.
