Ultraflex SilverSteer UC130-SVS front-mount hydraulic steering cylinder for outboard motors in model UC130-SVS/2 is a balanced starboard version with a version 2 connection arm. The cylinder is developed for outboard motors with high engine power and high steering loads. The product is the steering cylinder itself and not a complete hydraulic steering system with pump, hoses, and oil.
The balanced design provides the same number of wheel turns from lock to lock in both directions. The cylinder features side-mounted, adjustable hydraulic connections, replaceable cylinder end caps, and a high-strength stainless steel ULTRABOLT connection bolt. The cylinder rod and connection units are also made of stainless steel.
The UC130-SVS/2 has a stroke of 185 mm, a cylinder volume of 130 cm³, and an internal cylinder diameter of 36 mm. The total length is 544 mm, and the height is 76.2 mm. The connection for high-pressure hoses is 3/8″ / 9.5 mm, while bleeding is performed through DN5 quick-connect couplings. The thrust force is 492 kg.
The cylinder is mounted on the outboard motor's tilt tube. The correct connection arm, spacers, and installation space must be checked for the specific engine. The hydraulic hoses are tightened onto the cylinder fittings with 20 Nm and must be installed with a bend radius of at least 250 mm so that they are not pinched or affected when the engine is steered and tilted. Ultraflex OL150 hydraulic oil is recommended; ATF Dexron II and brake fluid must not be used.

SilverSteer configurations with one engine and one cylinder can be used up to 350 HP. Twin-engine installations can, depending on the engine rotation direction and the number of cylinders, be configured up to 700 HP. The system is not intended for racing and is generally not recommended for boats exceeding 60 knots. For twin-engine, dual-cylinder, and counter-rotating engines, the limit is 65 knots.
System components and spare parts
The cylinder is used together with a SilverSteer pump and the corresponding high-pressure hoses. Relevant pumps include item no. 45.275.01, 45.275.11, 45.275.02, 45.275.12, 45.275.03, and 45.275.13; the pump is selected based on engine power, number of engines, and the desired number of wheel turns. KIT OB-SVS consists of two Kevlar-reinforced high-pressure hoses with pre-pressed fittings.
For twin-engine installation with two cylinders, UC130P-SVS/2 (item no. 45.276.09) is used as the opposite cylinder together with a suitable A95 tie-bar. Product-specific service parts include seal kit 43364J, tool kit 43386V, and connection kit 42081R with ULTRABOLT. Service and replacement of cylinder parts must be performed by a qualified technician.
Always check the engine model, year, installation space, connection arm, and manufacturer number before purchase.
