VersaChock removable tender chocks from the Tender Chocks series are a universal set for supporting and storing tenders, dinghies, jet skis, and personal watercraft. The set consists of four removable chocks and four low-profile bases that are permanently mounted on a swim platform, flybridge, or boat deck.
When the chocks are not in use, they can be removed from the bases, clearing the deck, while the low, beveled bases remain in place. Each chock unit slides into the base channel and is secured with a thumbscrew and wing nut. The bases feature three mounting holes and drain holes to prevent water from being trapped in the channel.
Brackets and bases are made of powder-coated aluminum. The support surfaces are made of HDPE and equipped with a rubber profile against the hull. The overall dimensions for each chock are 225 × 150 × 25 mm. The set has a capacity of 560 kg and a maximum horizontal load of 230 kg.
The universal design can be used for most shapes and sizes of tenders and jet skis. The chocks must be placed against relatively flat and sufficiently strong areas of the hull. The hull deadrise, chines, stringers, hull thickness, as well as the position of the bow radius and transom must therefore be evaluated before installation. The final placement depends on the vessel's hull shape and the mounting surface.
A total of 12 mounting screws of up to ¼″ are required, which are not included. The tender or jet ski must be secured with separate tie-downs, as the chocks alone do not secure the vessel during navigation, heavy seas, or other dynamic loads. The eye in the chock's thumbscrew must not be used as an attachment point for tie-down straps.
Chocks, thumbscrews, and wing nuts should be checked before each use. The chocks should be removed when not in use, and metal parts should be rinsed with fresh water after contact with salt water. The manufacturer's model is VCTENDER, and the product is made in the USA by Jefferson Design Inc.
