The Garmin VHF 215i AIS combines reliable VHF communication with a built-in AIS receiver, allowing you to both communicate safely and maintain a full overview of the traffic around you. AIS targets are displayed directly on your compatible chartplotter, which improves situational awareness and helps with avoiding collisions – especially in dense traffic, bad weather, or when sailing in the dark.
The radio delivers 25 W transmit power and features DSC Class D with distress calling and direct calling via programmed MMSI. The built-in GPS ensures that position data is always ready for DSC functions, which can be critical in an emergency.
Installation is simple thanks to plug-and-play via NMEA 2000®, and the radio also supports NMEA 0183. In addition, the VHF 215i AIS includes a two-way hailing system for internal communication on board. The design matches Garmin's popular chartplotter series, so the radio blends naturally into the dashboard and provides a professional, uniform look.
