This VION A100 LD Hi-Sensitiv barometer is a mechanical aneroid barometer for measuring atmospheric air pressure on board boats and ships, as well as in cabins and buildings. The instrument is manufacturer model A100 B and requires no battery, cable, or electrical connection.
The Hi-Sensitiv mechanism amplifies the pointer's movement 1.5 times compared to a conventional barometer for the same pressure change. This makes changes in air pressure clearer on the dial. The accuracy is ±5 hPa, and the dial displays both hPa/millibar and inHg. A separate, manually adjustable reference pointer allows for comparing the current air pressure with a previous reading.
The round instrument case is manufactured from 0.5 mm mirror-polished 18/10 stainless steel in quality AISI 304L. The front is made of PMMA acrylic glass, while the white dial features blue and red prints and markings. The instrument's outer base diameter is 129 mm, the dial diameter is 106 mm, and the projection from the mounting surface is 40 mm.
The barometer is mounted fixed to a flat wall or bulkhead using the included quick-lock bracket. The click system allows for attaching and detaching the instrument, but the flexible locking claws should be handled with care. The original A100 WM wall bracket can be used as a replacement part for the mounting system.
The barometer must be calibrated according to the altitude of the usage location by comparison with a reliable reference value reduced to sea level. As a rule of thumb, a 10-meter height difference corresponds to approximately 1.1 hPa. Calibration should be performed immediately after checking the reference value, as air pressure can change several hPa in a few hours.
The sensitive mechanism does not require tapping on the front glass to activate the pointer. Clean the instrument with a soft cloth without abrasive products or detergents, which can damage the surface. Strong impacts and falls should be avoided. The instrument is manufactured in Denmark and comes with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty.
