This handheld sighting and steering compass from VION is developed for both sighting external objects and reading the boat's course. The Mini Compass 2000 combines a compact, round format with a shock-absorbing rubber protective housing.
The compass has an outer diameter of 80 mm, a thickness of 29 mm, and a product weight of 120 g. The handheld design makes it possible to use the same compass as both a sighting compass and a steering/course compass.
An integrated magnifying lens enlarges the image of the compass card 10 times. The direct reading system functions without a lubber line and provides a parallax-free view, where intervals of 0.5° can be estimated. This is a reading estimate and not an indication of measurement accuracy.
Permanent BETA-ray illumination supports reading in changing light conditions. The compass card is designed for high stability and fast response, allowing course changes to be followed directly.
