Volvo Penta Coolant VCS Yellow Glycol – Next Generation Coolant
Volvo Penta is gradually introducing its new coolant, Volvo Penta Coolant VCS (yellow), designed with advanced inhibitors specifically adapted to the materials in modern engines. This updated formula provides outstanding protection against corrosion, deposits, cavitation and galvanic corrosion.
Superior Protection for Modern Engines:
- Advanced Formula: Contains new inhibitors tailored for newer engine materials.
- Improved Corrosion Protection: Provides significantly improved protection against all forms of corrosion.
- Reduced Deposits: Minimizes the build-up of deposits in the cooling system.
- Cavitation protection: Effectively counteracts cavitation, which can cause damage to the engine.
- Galvanic Corrosion Protection: Protects against galvanic corrosion that can occur between different metals in the system.
Rollout of VCS (yellow) Coolant:
- Volvo Penta has introduced VCS (yellow) coolant in the following engines:
- D13 marine (from model year 2010/2011, D13 EVC-D)
- D16 series.
- D1, D2, D3 series.
- D4/D6 series.
Important Note:
- It is extremely important to avoid mixing VCS (yellow) coolant with other types of coolant, including the previously used green Volvo Penta coolant. This can result in harmful reactions and potential engine damage.
- Engines that have VCS yellow coolant must be marked with yellow markings, especially when filling.
