This WAGO 221 lever-operated connector is model 221-615 for tool-free connection of up to five copper conductors. It supports solid, stranded, and fine-stranded conductors with a cross-section of 0.5–6 mm² and is supplied in a pack of 15.
Each conductor entry has an individual operating lever. Lift the lever, insert the stripped conductor from the side, and push the lever back down. CAGE CLAMP® technology allows for connecting and disconnecting conductors without special tools. The recommended strip length is 12–14 mm.
The five connection points are internally connected to a single common electrical potential and therefore do not act as five electrically isolated terminals. Different supported conductor types and cross-sections can be combined, provided each copper conductor is within the range of 0.5–6 mm² or 20–10 AWG.
The electrical IEC data is 450 V, 41 A, and 4 kV rated surge voltage at overvoltage category II and pollution degree 2. The separate UL data for Use Group C is 600 V and 30 A. The maximum ambient temperature is 85 °C with T85 temperature marking, while the stated continuous service temperature is 105 °C.
The connector features a transparent housing and orange operating levers. It measures 36.7 mm in width, 10.1 mm in height, and 21.1 mm in depth, and has a net weight of 7.1 g per piece. The flammability rating is UL 94 V-2, and the product is RoHS-compliant.
The product is a loose connector. For fixed mounting, the separate WAGO mounting carrier 221-510 can be used; it is available as item no. 14.286.51. The carrier can be mounted horizontally or vertically on a DIN 35 rail or with screws on a flat surface, and conductors can be connected both before and after placement in the carrier.
