Blackout curtain with mosquito net from Waterline Design is a removable and foldable curtain for boat deck hatches. Model WLD1315 measures 800 × 800 mm and fits over hatch openings of up to 720 × 720 mm. It combines blackout, insect protection, and ventilation in one compact solution for sailboats and motorboats.
The three-layer construction consists of two overlapping blackout layers and a dense insect net. The blackout layers block out light, while the overlapping design allows air to pass through the hatch without giving mosquitoes and other insects free access. The curtain can be used with both open and closed deck hatches.
The blackout layers are made of PVC, and the insect net is made of polyester. The foldable chrome-plated steel frame keeps the curtain tensioned, while brass eyelets are used for attachment. The mounted construction is less than 3 mm thick and has a white/silver finish.
The curtain is mounted from the inside of the boat without permanent installation. The suction cups attach to a clean and smooth surface, and the curtain is pulled towards the hatch frame with a line. A magnet and self-adhesive metal plate can be used as an alternative attachment. For fiberglass or other surfaces where a suction cup cannot create a vacuum, a self-adhesive smooth mounting plate can be used.
The universal design can be used on square, rectangular, and round deck hatches, provided the opening measures no more than 720 × 720 mm and the curtain overlaps the edges of the opening. After use, the pop-up frame folds down to approximately one-third of its expanded size. A storage bag is included, and the product's net weight is approximately 150 g.
