This Waterline Design mosquito net is a collapsible pop-up model for boat hatches. The net measures 600 × 600 mm and is intended for hatch openings up to 520 × 520 mm. It overlaps the opening, keeping mosquitoes and other small flying insects out while allowing the hatch to remain open for ventilation.
The black net is made of polyester and stretched by a flexible, collapsible chrome-plated steel frame. When mounted, the installation height is less than 3 mm. The construction can be adapted to square, rectangular, and round hatch openings, provided the opening remains within the maximum dimensions.
The mosquito net is mounted from inside the boat using a suction cup or magnet and requires no drilling or permanent attachment. For magnetic mounting, a metal plate is attached to the hatch window with double-sided tape, after which the magnet is connected to the plate. A cord between the net and the attachment tensions the net against the hatch frame. The pop-up construction allows the net to be installed in approximately 5 seconds.
The mounting method can be used on both standard and flush hatches and is independent of the hatch brand, provided the opening dimensions are observed. When mounting with a suction cup, both the window and suction cup must be clean and free of grease and dirt so that a stable vacuum can be formed. This variant is intended for boat hatches and not for portholes.
When not in use, the net can be folded down to approximately one-third of its expanded size and placed in the included storage bag. The delivery includes the mosquito net, suction cup, magnetic mounting option, and storage bag.
The compatible WLD6310 insulation layer can be mounted between the hatch and the mosquito net to reduce heat radiation and condensation. Documented mounting parts and spare parts include WLD9001 suction cups, WLD9025 magnet kit, and WLD1542 mounting plate for fiberglass hatches where a suction cup cannot achieve sufficient grip.
