This mosquito net for hatches and portholes from Waterline Design is the large porthole variant with external dimensions of 700 × 300 mm. It is designed for portholes with a clear opening of up to 650 × 200 mm and covers the opening with an overlap, so ventilation can be maintained while keeping insects out.
The removable net is made of black polyester and is mounted from the inside in seconds. It can be attached using a suction cup or magnet, and the net is kept taut over the opening with a drawstring and cord lock. For magnetic mounting, the included metal plate is attached to the porthole with double-sided tape, after which the magnet is connected to the plate.
The dense net structure is designed to keep out mosquitoes, sand flies, midges, small biting midges, and wasps, among others. At the same time, the net allows airflow through the open porthole and is therefore suitable when ventilation is desired without uninvited insects in the cabin or living area.
The system is universal and does not depend on the porthole brand. It can be used over rectangular, square, and round openings, provided the clear opening remains within the maximum dimensions and there is a sufficient flat surface around the opening for the net's overlap and attachment.
The mosquito net is not permanently mounted and can be taken down again quickly. A storage bag is included so the net can be stored neatly and protected when not in use. The manufacturer's part number for this variant is 1435.
