This Xintex P2BS propane gas detector with 2 sensors and solenoid valve is a fixed, dual-channel detection system for monitoring propane and LPG vapors. The system combines an acoustic and visual alarm with automatic shut-off of the gas supply.
The two sensors can be placed at different potential leak points. They must be mounted near the floor and in the vicinity of propane-powered appliances, as propane is heavier than air. The display should be positioned so that both the LED indicators and the audible alarm can be clearly observed.
At a gas concentration of 20% of LEL, the red alarm indicator lights up, an audible alarm of approximately 68 dBA is activated, and the solenoid valve closes automatically. A green LED indicates that the system is operational, while a yellow LED indicates faults such as a disconnected connection or a detached sensor. A separate LED shows the status of the solenoid valve.
The Check/Reset button is used for self-testing and temporary muting of the alarm horn. If the gas concentration remains above the alarm threshold, the horn will reactivate after 30 seconds. The system operates at 10–30 V DC and is protected against reverse polarity. The rated voltage of the supplied solenoid valve must be checked on the product label before installation.
The black, square control panel measures 67 × 67 mm and is mounted in a 54 mm round cutout. The panel is inserted through the mounting hole and secured from the back with the supplied threaded nut. The solenoid valve should be mounted on the tank side of the LPG regulator and as close to the tank as practically possible. After installation, pipe connections must be leak-tested with soapy water; never use an open flame to search for leaks.
The scope of delivery includes two sensors, two 6 m sensor cables, a solenoid valve, a 3/8″ × 1/4″ adapter, and a manual. The sensor cables have quick-disconnect plugs and must not be cut or shortened. An additional 6 m sensor cable is available as item no. 29.787.11, and a replacement sensor is available as item no. 29.787.12. The sensors should be function-tested regularly and it is recommended to replace them every 3–4 years.
