Yacht flag with golden, embroidered letters YF. The split flag is made of the strongest woven flag cloth on the market, 170 g/m². Comes in a deep red, crimson/navy red color. The yacht flag may be flown by all Danish pleasure craft and rowing boats. Comes in a nice fabric bag.
How is the size of the flag calculated?
For flag games, the front edge of the flag should fill 2/3 of the height of the flag game. There are no fixed rules for flag size, but we recommend the sizes below.
The History of the Yacht Flag
Supreme resolution of 15 August 1865. Permission to fly the yacht flag, which consists of the Danish naval flag with the letters YF in gold in the upper square closest to the pole, is granted on petition by the Ministry of the Navy, but only for deck vessels. The petition, which is stamped at a rate of 65 øre, must be accompanied by the vessel's tonnage certificate or nationality and registration certificate. The yacht flag does not confer any benefit on the ship with regard to port and ship dues. The permission to fly the yacht flag, which is only valid until the vessel changes ownership, and which must be on board and presented at the request of the relevant authorities, is forfeited when the vessel is not used exclusively for pleasure sailing. In 1957, the obligation to seek permission to fly the yacht flag was abolished.
